Child Death Review training

The Child Death Review Team are holding a series of training sessions aimed at multi-agency professionals who work with children and/or the families whether this is directly or indirectly, e.g GPs, Paediatricians, Police, Probation, Social Workers, etc.

The aim of this training is to provide an overview of the statutory Child Death Review (CDR) and the role of the Child Death Review Nurse.

The session will cover:

  • the legislation which governs and the principles behind the Child Death Review process
  • an overview of the various multi-professional meetings held throughout the process
  • how to make a Notification of Death for a child via Sussex eCDOP and other associated forms
  • the role of the Child Death Review Nurse
  • the first steps to support a bereaved family
  • CDR case scenarios

The dates available and the link to book onto the sessions are:-

  • Tuesday 5th November 2024: 10am-11:30am
  • Wednesday 5th February 2025: 12pm-1:30pm
  • Thursday 8th May 2025: 3pm-4:30pm
  • Friday 8th August 2025: 9am-10:30am
  • Tuesday 4th November 2025: 11am-12:30pm
