There is an exciting opportunity to volunteer in support of Sussex Police as an Independent Advisor. This is an opportunity to have a voice and support the Sussex Police mission Priorities and direction | Sussex Police :

Policing is an incredibly challenging profession with increased demand for service and added complexity of crime. Over the next few years the Government plan some significant changes Home Secretary announces major policing reforms – GOV.UK. This is why we need exceptional people with diverse characteristics, ways of thinking and experience to support us.
The primary role of an adviser is:
- Assist the police in shaping service delivery to meet the needs of diverse communities, and create an anti-discriminatory police service
- Provide guidance and feedback about the potential and actual impact of policing on different groups.
- Act as a ‘critical Friend’ challenging conventional thinking and offering an independent perspective on issues.
